Nature and Scope:
Administrative duties including handling and preparing confidential correspondence, reports and communications, providing information to internal and external stakeholders, and assisting in the preparation of background documents, presentations, reports, and publications.
Supports the execution of all YMCA fundraising initiatives including grant and proposal writing, foundation and donor research and screening, annual staff campaign, fundraising events, donor stewardship activities, and Raisers Edge data entry and reporting.
Recruits and supervises administrative and fundraising volunteers.
Attends meetings and is responsible for meeting minutes, provides follow-up to individuals and groups, and supports the CEO with respect to Board governance.
Coordinates and supports meetings, travel, events and special projects as assigned.
Post-secondary education or diploma in a related field preferred
Minimum 3 years' experience in administration or fundraising support
Knowledge of YMCA mission, vision, programs and structure
Strong, dynamic communication skills with demonstrated ability to establish credibility with internal and external stakeholders, and work with people at all levels
Exceptional writing skills
High degree of independence and initiative
Demonstrated ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously through well-developed project management and organizational skills
Computer proficient, including Microsoft Office, and Raiser's Edge or similar CRM software an asset
Ability to work some evenings, weekends and flexible schedule, as required
Possess strong work ethic and a deep commitment to excellence, and high professional standards and integrity
A satisfactory Criminal Record Check. Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding start date. The YMCA will provide applicable instructions and paperwork
